About the Speaker
Martin Wegman, MD, PhD, FACEP is a practicing emergency physician and Head of Research at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), where he directs the Colleges research strategy, oversees multiple funded projects, and leads the ACEP Research Forum national conference and ACEP Research Academy national training course.
He completed MD-PhD training at the University of Florida, graduating as an Alpha Omega Alpha and UF Hall of Fame inductee, followed by a clinical research fellowship at Yale School of Medicine and emergency medicine residency at Yale and the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Wegmans research has been published in Lancet Global Health, JAMA, Health Affairs, and Medical Care and funded by the NIH, FDA, Doris Duke Foundation, and AMA, with awards totaling over $2M. He is the 2025 Faculty Teaching Award recipient from the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine, recognizing his excellence in clinical and evidence-based medicine education. His research focuses on quasi-experimental designs to inform healthcare practice and policy.
