About the Speaker
Dr. Ahmedin Jemal is Senior Vice President of the Surveillance, Prevention, and Health Services Research department at the American Cancer Society. Dr. Jemal has a broad research interest, including cancer disparities and the social determinants of health and health services and outcomes research, with a focus on major cancers and common risk factors. His main goal at ACS has been to build a strong interdisciplinary research team of cancer surveillance, tobacco control, health services, and disparities research to inform public health policies thereby promote equitable and broad application of evidence-based cancer prevention and control. Dr. Jemal serves as Senior Editor ofCancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention and on Advisory Board of CA Cancer Journal for Clinicians.
