This Grand Rounds will explore how to improve the real-world effectiveness of clinical interventions by bridging the gap between research and practice using principles from accountability science and dissemination & implementation science. Using practical, real-world examples, the session will examine how interventions succeed or fail across different settings based on how problems and solutions are modeled, how roles are defined, and how local practice environments shape outcomes.Attendees will gain insight into common barriers and facilitators to implementation, the importance of aligning research design with frontline realities, and how accountability strengthens intervention fidelity and impact. This session is especially relevant for those involved in clinical research, multi-site studies, quality improvement, systems design, and informatics-supported clinical workflows.
