About the Speaker

Dr. Emily Patterson is a Professor in the College of Medicine, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, at the Ohio State University. Her primary area of expertise is human factors engineering, which is a multidisciplinary approach to the design of innovative technology to support human cognition in complex settings. She has published extensively, with an h-index of 47 and nearly 10,000 citations. She has served continuously as Principal Investigator on federally funded grants and contracts since 2001.

She directs the Usability and User Experience in Health Care certificate which is designed for full-time clinicians to cross-train in health information technology and artificial intelligence remotely and asynchronously.
