Please join us for CTSR Design Studio, a monthly interactive discussion of new proposals and projects in Clinical and Translational Science and Research. Your insights and expertise will be invaluable in helping bring these projects to fruition, and we would be delighted to have your participation.
This month, join us for "AI-Enhanced Patient Navigation: Using Real-World Data to Personalize Navigation for Cervical Cancer Screening" presented by Rahma Mkuu, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor, and Protiva Rahman, PhD, Assistant Professor and Director of Cancer Data Integration, from the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the UF College of Medicine.

Dr. Rahma S. Mkuu, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Outcomes & Biomedical Informatics (HOBI) at the University of Florida. Her research spans implementation science, global health, and the elimination of health disparities among underserved populations in the United States and East Africa. Currently, her NIH-funded work supported by a National Cancer Institute career development award focuses on improving cervical cancer screening among women living with chronic conditions. Dr. Mkuu holds a PhD from Texas A&M University, an MPH from Columbia University, and a bachelors degree from the University of Florida.
Dr. Protiva Rahman, PhD, is interested in building tools to democratize data science, with a focus on empowering domain experts in healthcare. Her research spans the disciplines of data science, natural language processing, and human-computer interaction in the domains of cancer and infectious diseases. In her role as the front door faculty liaison for the OneFlorida+ Clinical Research Network, she advises researchers and analysts on data quality issues and cleaning. She is additionally developing the Cancer Data Commons, a UF Health Cancer Institute initiative to create a central interactive repository of cancer related data. Dr. Rahman holds a PhD from The Ohio State University and completed her postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University.
